Life Mission

by TerryLema

My husband likes watching the Price is Right. He calls it the “Happy Hour.” Where we live it comes on every morning at 9 AM. He also likes me to watch with him.

I watch with him often, but I find many of the contestants horribly annoying with all their screaming and antics. I try to ignore much of that, but the other day I heard something that captured my attention. A woman came up on the stage, hugged the MC, and declared, “It is my life’s mission to be on the Price is Right.”

I do not know if she won anything. I tuned out after that comment. How sad that your life’s mission is to be on a game show.

Recently Pastor Jordan (CFC-Middleton) spoke to us about bold vision. He reminded us of the vision given to Paul that became his life’s mission.

“’I now send you to [the Gentiles] to open their eyes so they may turn from darkness to light and from the power of Satan to God, that by faith in Me they may receive forgiveness of sins and a share among those who are sanctified.’ Therefore, King Agrippa, I was not disobedient to the heavenly vision.” [Acts 26:17-19 HCSB]

Life’s Mission to me means to know and love the LORD Christ Jesus. To be conformed into His image by the power of the Holy Spirit. To be obedient to our Father God. To do what He asks. To go where He sends.

Amen.
