God Never Loses!

Yesterday I reminded us that we are at war, a spiritual war, with spiritual foes. That’s a spiritual reality, but it is a reality that we don’t always handle well.  The enemy of our soul has two primary tactics – both of which will work to defeat us.  They are 1) over-emphasis; and, 2) under-emphasis.

We fall victim to over-emphasis when we blame everything – every sin, attitude, problem and struggle on a demon that needs to be cast out. I knew someone like that. Every time they lost their temper or came up against any opposition, they said it was because of demons. They would tell you that the devil was always out to get them personally. Most of the time their problems originated in their own lack of self-control and arrogant attitudes.

To under-emphasize, however, can be just as dangerous a position.  We can’t ignore the spiritual realm  The fact is, the Bible tells us our battle is against spiritual powers.  “What you can’t see” can hurt you!

The key is to find biblical balance. It means to know that, yes, as citizen-soldier of the Kingdom of God, we will be called upon to do battle with rulers, authorities, the powers of this dark world and the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.” [Eph 6:12-13]

But we also are aware that we are not to fear. We are promised that our God will be with us. “Do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” [Isaiah 41:10]

The battle is the LORD’s and He never loses!  Glory!
