“We are living in the End Times.” We certainly can agree that we are closer to the End Times than any other generation. (Matthew 24, 25)
“Jesus is coming back.” Yes, He is. (This same Jesus, who has been taken from you into heaven, will come back in the same way you have seen him go into heaven. Acts 1:11)
“Every eye will see Him.” Right on! (He is coming with the clouds, and every eye will see him. Rev 1:7)
“When Jesus comes, He will take us to be with Him forever.” Amen, I can hardly wait! (For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever. 1 Thessalonians 4:16-18)
“We will go with Him at His Second Coming, but there is no Rapture.” Right. Wait! Whoa?! What?!
What if there is no Rapture? What if we must go through the Tribulation?
I personally am not sure about the Rapture. I hope there is one, but I see so many suffering and being martyred for their faith around the world and I wonder why we Americans think we will avoid that – that we will simply all disappear before it gets “really” bad.
I remember some great advice, “Hope for the Best, but Prepare for the Worst.” We have been incredibly good at hoping for the best – maybe now we should start preparing for the worst…just in case.
