You Have Seen!

One of the widely used tactics of the enemy is to try to make people (even believers!) think that God doesn’t see what they are going through … or even worse, that He sees but He doesn’t care.

Psalm 31 is one of the psalms that is full of emotional turmoil. David goes back and forth between expressing his feelings of fear and despair caused by his enemies, and his trust in God’s protection and love. It ends in thanksgiving for God’s unwavering love.

One of the verses which speaks to many hearts is verse 8: “I will be glad and rejoice in your unfailing love, for you have seen my troubles, and you care about the anguish of my soul.”

David expresses his trust that God sees his troubles … and that God cares about the anguish of his soul. His response is to rejoice in God’s love.

But is that enough – that God sees and cares. It is when you add all the many Scriptures about God’s power and promises to help! Scriptures such Isaiah 41:10: “So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” [NIV]

David acknowledged his trust in God’s unfailing love with joy and rejoicing! That should be our response also! Amen&Amen
