“Willing to Climb the Mountain?”

by TerryLema

In the third month following the Exodus, the Israelites ended up by the mountain Sinai. God called Moses up to the mountain and promised to meet with him there.  God explained His purpose for doing so. “The LORD said to Moses, ‘I am going to come to you in a dense cloud, so that the people will hear me speaking with you and will always put their trust in you.’” [Exodus 19:9]

Moses needed to prepare the people for this event; they needed to consecrate themselves.  At the end of three days the mountain was covered with a dense cloud, there was thunder and lightning and the sound of a trumpet. Moses left the people at the base of the mountain while he climbed up to meet God.

“Mount Sinai was covered with smoke, because the LORD descended on it in fire. The smoke billowed up from it like smoke from a furnace, the whole mountain trembled violently, and the sound of the trumpet grew louder and louder.”  [19:18-19]

Moses climbed up to meet with God and God came down to meet with Him. The whole mountain trembled violently because the LORD descended on it fire. There was no denying the Presence of God was there.

We need men and women willing to climb the mountain and meet with God. We need the church to consecrate herself. These things must happen … only then will the Presence of our LORD descend.  Only then will people hear what we are saying and come to believe in and surrender to the LORD Christ Jesus.

It’s beginning … God is calling us to the mountain. God is calling us to consecration to Him. The fire is coming!
