A 3-Second God

by TerryLema

One last fuss over that Artificial Intelligence (AI) Chatbot that mimics God – and all the things that can go wrong with that.

We are not only a people always searching for the “new” – even in our search for God. We are also an impatient people and seeking God is not a 3-second experience.

The average human attention span is approximately 8 1/4 seconds, which is shorter than that of a goldfish, which has an attention span of 9 seconds. We have lost nearly 4 seconds since 2000.

It takes time and effort to seek and find God. Sometimes we must even wrestle with God. I can boldly say that I grew the most during those times in my life when I had to honestly wrestle and struggle with God. There have been times when God was silent, times when His answers were not a quick turnaround.

I have approached God when I was desperate, hungering for meaning, angry, without hope and doubting. I have had times when I felt God abandoned me in my struggles or my sorrow.

And oh, the JOY(!) when God met me in my struggles. How sad that some think that experience can be duplicated by an AI Chatbot.

How utterly devastating that people are seeking the One True God in ways that are diminishing their ability to find Him.
